Oxygen Booster and Charging Cabinet Assembly

Oxygen Booster and Charging Cabinet Assembly Photo

Oxygen Booster & chargind Cabinet

Part No. 400437.00

The assembly is designed for charging Aircraft First Aid and Supplementary cylinders to a maximum pressure of 250 bar (3625 psig). The booster is powered by compressed air, which should not be lower than 8.2 bar (119 psig). A minimum flow rate of 280 litres per minute (10 scfm) is required although lower flow rates can be used - the charging takes that bit longer.

The cabinet in which the cylinders are charged, is to protect the operator from emission of oxygen, should a burst disc or pressure gauge fail.

An accurate pressure guage on the panel records the pressure of the cylinder to be filled.

Control of the filling process is by three soft seat valves, using pin through the orifice design for slow opening and good flow control.

Access to the charging point is behind the door, which is propped open when attaching cylinders. Two cyinders can be charged at one time and the interior space measures 760mm (30") long x 200mm (7.85"). Larger cylinders can be accommodated (e.g 21.3 litre [1300 cu.in.] capacity) by locating on the side table with the valuve assembly protruding through the sidewall of the cabinet.

Other assemblies can be produced e.g. where only lower driving air pressures are available, a two stage booster is used.

Assemblies for air, nitrogen and CO2 can also be produced.
